Good luck finding a name, I don't envy you. I like Loadstar more than Starborn.

Any chance we'll see dynamic ship traffic out in space? Be able to initiate, or see police coming to scan us?

Thanks, yeah, Starborn has been claimed so I'm going with Loadstar.

I plan to add dynamic ship traffic next. Currently focused on combat improvements. Perhaps I should start publishing a devlog.

That'd definitely be neat to follow! As for combat, I'm sure you're looking at wargame systems like Battletech and what-not. Labbing up weapon configs sounds like it'll be fun. The possibility of losing components and needing to reconfigure brings depth to Mechwarrior 5 in particular.

All I've wanted is a nicely updated and rich successor to the classic Palm OS Space Trader. This looks like it fits that nicely, mixing in some good ideas from FTL and other games. Very much looking forward to it!

Hey, thanks for the comment! I've never heard of Space Trader, I'll check it out. My big sources of inspiration for this project are, of course FTL and also Elite, particularly Elite 2 Frontier which I played on the Atari STE so I wanted to bring some of that 16bit style to the graphics and music.

Love me some Elite 2, and Pioneer. There are Android and .Net desktop ports of Space Trader out there...somewhere. And it is heavily inspired by Elite itself.

I'll try to check it out. I read on the Wikipedia page the goal is to earn enough to buy a moon and retire. I had something similar in mind based on the idea of having a limited length career and maybe successors like in Pirates! and Sunless Sea.
